I really like the way you took on revie...Hi Judith-<br />I really like the way you took on reviewing this exhibition. You tackled some of the more challenging images in the retrospective and you do it well. In essence I agree with you- every room of this exhibit was a visual and conceptual bombardment of Cindy Sherman. It’s my feeling that Sherman, especially some of her more uncomfortable images, needs space to be mulled over and time to be digested. MOMA never gives you that. So I only really have one critique to offer. Many of the phrases that you use to describe Sherman’s weaknesses: “message becomes lost”, “gratuitous and shocking”, “without pushing us to ask ourselves”, “conceptually shallow”, “difficult to look at.” Do you think that maybe that’s her intention, rather than her shortcoming?
