To be perfectly honest, by looking at the pictures, I didn’t remember seeing this show, but I guess that can happen when we see so many shows in one afternoon. You aptly describe Gbur’s “cryptic language” in his use of grids and pop images, but I had an issue with this sentence: “The patterns and images become a powerful alter-like composition similar to medieval paintings but put into contemporaneous context for the use of pattern and images, uncanny to the viewer.” You relate Gbur’s works to Medieval paintings, but how exactly are they similar? Just to give “altar-like” meaning to a painting doesn’t alone equate it to Medieval works.
